4 Months na si Marianna

Hay ... bilis talaga ng panahon. 4 months na ang anak ko. Ano ano na nga ba nagagawa nya ngayong four months na sya? Hmmmm....

Blues Clues. Approved ni mommy. kasama nya ko nanonood e. Kaso nga lang, sabi ng daddy nya, wag ko daw masyadong sanayin na nanonood ng tv, kaya bumili ako ng giant na nursery rhymes books. Well, she seems to enjoy it as much as she enjoys watching tv.

*** mas lalo tumalas pakiramdam nya. nung medyo maliit pa sya, pag dating ko galing sa office, titingnan ko, tulog, maya maya, biglang iiyak ng malakas . Parang naamoy na nandun na ko at nagpapabuhat. ngayon, kusa na syang gumigising. Bago ko umalis papunta sa office, nagigising yan at sinusundan ako ng tingin hangang sa maka alis ako. Tapos pagdating ko naman galing office, kapag tulog, nagigising sya ng kusa kahit di ko gisingin. Siguro naaamoy ako. Kaya malamang nito, ilang months na lang, may bata ng hahabol sa kin pag aalis ako ng bahay .

*** Mabilis na syang dumapa at makabalik ng higa. Nung minsan nga habang nilalaro ko sya, naka tatlong ikot. Di na pwedeng iwan mag isa ang anak ko at baka mahulog.

*** Nag uumpisa na sya mangilala. Nung isang araw, ibinaba sya ni mama sa kapitbahay. Si kuya Gary, nun lang nya kasi nakita, nung binati sya, sumibi. Muntik na nga daw umiyak. he he. Ok yun para di manakaw ang anak ko.

*** Nag uumpisa na syang maging TL (tulo laway) . Kasama na nga ngayon sa get up nya yung bib e. Siguro mag uumpisa na syang tubuan ng ngipin.

*** Ang bigat na ng anak ko. Yung pisngi tig - isang kilo.

*** Kapag ayaw nya ng naka upo habang hawak mo sya, lumiliyad. Kaya alam ko na na kailangan kong tumayo para isayaw sayaw sya.

Madami pa syang nagagawa ngayon na 4 mos na sya at alam kong patuloy pa na madadagdagan nalalaman nya as she grows old. Sayang nga lang at wala dito Daddy nya to see her grow. Alam ko malungkot din si Mark for being away from us. Pero lahat naman ng ginagawa namin ay para din kay Marianna. Konting tiis muna ngayon.

First giggle

Nung friday, narinig ko tumawa ng malakas anak ko habang kinikiliti ko . Sobrang saya ko. Iba yung feeling . Yun bang tipong mag papakain ako sa sobrang saya. Parang nanalo ako sa lotto . Hay ... kung wala si Marianna, nag mumukmok ako nito kasi wala si Mark. Salamat sa anak ko, i look forward to days to come. Not that i don't before. She just made my life more meaningfull .

Restoran Jaya, SS5, PJ

Early morning and I met Diha for breakfast before we went for our appointment..

She wanted me to try a place nearby; a place her family go to if they wanted a quick, satisfying kelantanese breakfast.

We ended at Restoran Jaya...

The food spread, though not extensive, looks fresh and inviting..

Diha had some nasi kerabu with chicken..

By the speed she was gobbling it down in gusto, I believe it's good?

I had lontong..

The soup was too sweet for my liking; the nasi impit was a tad under cook, but the sambal sotong's delicious though. More peanut sauce would have been better. Gerai Cek Nor's lontong is definitely way better..

Some pulut pagi

Very sweet like any other kelantanese kuih I guess..Fragrant with gula melaka and very soft. Rather lovely I must say.

We also had roti canai, which I didnt take a picture of..

But let me tell ya, the kuah dhall kari for the roti was fabulous! It's the best I've had in Klang Valley so far, really reminds me of the delicious kuah served in Kelantan/ Terengganu whenever I have roti there..yum yum.

Dalawang Linggong mga Pagbabago

Two weeks na since umalis si Mark for work. In two weeks time dami ng nangyari at pagbabago.....

Una, mas malaki na si Marianna.

Mabilis talaga lumaki ang mga bata. Kaya nga sinusulit ko yung time habang maliit sya. Ineenjoy ko sya na laruin, yakapin at halikan ng halikan. Kasi di ko mamamalayan baka pag malaki na sya, madyahe na syang magpahalik sa kin.

Pangalawa, ngayon na mommy na ko, feeling ko lalo akong naging kuripot. Lahat kinukwenta ko. Dati madalas ako mag breakfast sa labas. Eh, mahina 80 pesos na gastos pag nag jollibee ako o mc do. Kaya ngayon, sa bahay na ko kumakain. Bumili na lang ako ng tinapay, keso tska gatas. So far, di pa naman ako nagsasawa. Tska tingin ko pag inisip ko gastos di naman ako magsasawa, he he. Kailangan ko na mag ipon. Para na din kay Marianna. Gusto ko kasi maibigay sa kanya lahat ng kailangan nya .

Pangatlo, sa tricycle na ko madalas mag dinner ngayon. Pagbaba ko ng lrt sa monumento, bumibili lang ako ng empanada o kaya waffle o kahit ano na madali lang kainin. Sa tricycle ko na kinakain pauwi. Kasi gusto ko, pagdating ko ng bahay, abutan ko pa anak ko ng gising. Nilalaro ko sya agad, pinapadede o pinupunasan. Hawak ko sya hangang sa makatulog. Miss na miss ko kasi sya pag umaalis ako para pumasok sa office kaya gusto ko masulit ko yung oras na kasama ko sya.

Pang apat, ngayon ko na realize kapag may anak ka pala, puro sya na lang bukang bibig mo pag may kwentuhan. Siguro yung iba kulang na lang takpan na ang bibig ko para matigil kaka kwento kay Marianna. I can't help it, dati si Mark ang bida sa mga kwento ko. Ngayon si Marianna na.

Pang lima, sa bahay na ulit kami umuuwi ngayon. Nung umalis si Mark, lipat bahay na kami ni Marianna. Mabuti at malugod pa din kaming tinaggap ni mama, hehe. Kasi naman, sayang yung matitipid namin. Mahal ang upa at kuryente. Higit sa lahat, advantage sa min na kasama si mama dahil masusubay bayan nya si Marianna.

Pang anim, ngayon na realize ko na mahal na mahal ko ang asawa ko. Lagi naman ako ganito e. Pag nandito si Mark, naiinis ako tska madalas kong awayin. Ngayon na umalis na sya ulit, eto nanaman ako, lagi ko syang hinahanap. Mabait ang asawa ko at napaka responsible. Kaya nga feeling ko lagi pa din akong in love sa kanya. Miss na miss ko na sya. 7 1/2 months pa ko mag iintay bago sya makauwi ulit. Buti na lang sa barko nila pwede sya mag email kaya parang araw araw din kami nakakapag usap. Hopefully di ko mamalayan, nandito na sya ulit .

Last but not the least, ang sarap sarap pala ng feeling maging Mommy. Sobrang saya ng pakiramdam pag tinitingnan ako ng anak ko at nakayakap sa kin. Nakalimutan ko lahat ng sakit nung naglalabor ako, ha ha. Naalala ko tuloy, nung malapit na ko manganak, panay na ko iling sa sobrang sakit . May kasama pa ngang ayoko na yung iling ko e. Tawa pa ko bago ko manganak kasi sabi ko sa OB ko painless. Kala ko ligtas na ko sa sakit. Di pala. Ang sakit
. Sobra. Pero kung ganito naman ang kapalit, malamang sa umulit pa ko. he he. Sana boy naman na next time para tapos na. Pero syempre, kung ano ibigay sa min ni God, malugod naming tatanggapin.

I know marami pa kong marerealize at mga maeexperience na pagbabago being a first time mom. Im very lucky to have the chance to have this experience of a lifetime.

What is wrong with this picture?

While it doesn't happen every day, I occasionally am approached to review new food and food-related products in exchange for a sample. Right before the holidays I was approached by a representative from Emily's Chocolates asking if I would like to try and review their chocolates. Well, that was a no-brainer. However, holiday mail played havoc and I didn't get my package, so when they found out, a new box full of Emily's Chocolate was at my door in no time. I unpacked the box and set the containers on the table until I could get around to photos, tasting and posting. I honestly thought my chocolate samples would be safe since chocolate covered nuts and fruits are more my thing than that of other people in my household.

So imagine my surprise when I came downstairs to find that three of four of my Emily's packages had been raided!! In a house with three women, the idea that someone would hit the chocolate is not really surprising, but I was shocked to find that the real perpetrators were the male members of our household! Now that is an endorsement for chocolate.

My son Andrew was drawn to the milk-chocolate covered graham crackers, which came individually wrapped (like that would help your self-control!), while my husband headed for the dark chocolate covered cherry-hazelnut mix, very strange since he normally is not a big fan of chocolate-covered fruit. This alone was enough to make me take my own taste test, and I was so impressed! There was just enough chocolate to compliment the nuts and fruit inside. The chocolate had just the right amount of sweetness, and was wonderfully creamy. My favorite was the pecans that were covered in chocolate and dusted with cocoa- they were sophisticated chocolate perfection!

Needless to say, with so many fans, Emily's Chocolates did not hang around very long, and I have to admit, I have already hit the website to try the chocolate-covered blueberries... and the chocolate-covered fortune cookies... or maybe the cranberries bathed in chocolate... Kwentong Marianna

Nung sabado, umuwi muna yaya ni Marianna tapos kahapon lang ng hapon bumalik. Ok lang naman sa kin para maalagaan ko din sya. Buong linggo, na miss ko ang anak ko. Kasi naman sa gabi, sandali lang pagdating ko tulog na sya. Ginagawa ko nga kinakain ko lang dinner ko sa tricycle. Pagbaba ko ng lrt, bibili lang ako ng kahit ano, pizza o kaya waffle o kaya empanada. Yun na dinner ko. Gusto ko kasi pagdating ko ng bahay, malalaro ko agad si Marianna habang gising. Madaling alagaan ang anak ko. Isang beses lang sya gumigising sa magdamag di katulad ng ibang bata na namumuyat.

Totoo, ang bilis lang nilang lumaki. Parang one week lang, tingin ko ang laki na nya agad. Kaya pala pinipigilan ako mag bibili ng damit ni mama, kasi nga sandali pa lang, maliit na sa kanya yung iba nyang mga damit.

Nung isang araw, kumakain si mama, sinubuan nya si Marianna ng konting bangus. Tuwa pa sya kasi nilalasap lasap pa e. Sabay sinuka . He he. Di pa pwede kumain ng solid foods baby ko. Subukan ko pag mag six months na sya. Mashed patatas o kalabasa tska ceralac siguro.

Kahapon, tinangalan ko sya ng mittens. Tuwang tuwa sya sa mga daliri nya. Nilalaro nya. Tapos tinuturuan ko na sya humawak ng feeding bottle nya tska rattle. Sobrang lambing, medyo sinisinat kasi dahil binakunahan sya nung Friday. Ang anak ko, pag naiinis, kinukusot ng kamay ang mukha. Nung sinaway ko sumibi ba naman tska umiyak ng malakas . Niyakap ko tapos hinalikan , tumigil sya pero humihikbi pa din. Nakakatuwa ang anak ko, marunong ng sawayin. Kaso dahil nga di pa sya marunong magsalita, iyak lang ang nasagot nya.

Marami na syang alam. Nanonood na sya ng tv, naglalaro mag isa sa crib nya, nakikipag usap, medyo nagigilala na nga din sya e. Very excited na ko . Madami akong gustong ituro sa kanya. Paglaki laki nya, isasama ko na sya dito sa office. Pag saturday kasi, halfday lang kami. Pwede magsama ng anak. Tapos pagkatapos ng work, magbobonding kami mag mommy. Parang nung isang araw ang lungkot lungkot ko nung umalis si Mark. Ang dami ko ng kwento sa kanya tungkol kay Marianna pag tawag nya . Salamat kay Marianna, nabawasan ang lungkot ko.

Medyo nahuhuli ako ng posting dito sa blog. Naadik kasi ako kakalaro ng chuzzle .

Fogal Meat Market, Sri Hartamas, KL

For my birthday last year end, my friends decided that I should have a lot of meat...

Wah, that's the impression they get of me? ._."

Hmmm, ok ok less meat this year :p

Anyways, what's planned and what's eaten was last year, so here's the food ;)

Jeremy was at Fogal's early, so he had some garlic bread first..

Nicely toasted, garlicky and butterish. Good.

We decided to have the platter for 4, but as jeremy dont take beef; he ordered a side of sausages..

He chose pork and lamb sausages with sides of wedges and greens..Both the sausages were juicy and tasty, the wedges were crisp on the outside, but with fluffy potatoes on the inside..

Then came the meat platter..

Gosh, the amount of meat looks rather intimidating..

There's 2 types of sausages, 2 kebabs, pork bacons, lamb burger patty, lamb chops, pork chop, beef steak and served with sides of chips, mash and coleslaw. Quite a mouthful eh?

We decided to have the chorizo and some lamb+pork sausage. The chorizo (the darker reddish one) was yummy; juicy and spicy, the meat was springy. I find the other sausage too salty though. Lamb burger patty was tasty; tender and moist, cooked just right. The pork bacon was just so so. Beef steak was overcooked and rather hard. Same for pork chop, I find it rather dry and hard at some parts. Need to douse it with apple sauce.. Both the lamb and pork kebabs were fine, quite tender but nothing to shout about. As for the lamb chops, so parts were just nice, while other parts were rather hard.. Sides were average too.

Phew. So much meat.

I guess it's better to order the specific type of meat you want at Fogal's than to have the platter. Somehow I get the impression that all the meat were dunked at the griller and cooked together. But each meat needs to be given different cooking time and attention to get the optimum texture and flavour, no?
