Frames, TTDI, KL

Met up with SL for dinner not too long ago at Frames....
As the name of the restaurant implied, the whole place was decorated with frames, frames and more frames. And if any of the framed pictures caught your fancy, you can also purchase it..
Decors aside, we zoomed into the menu..
I assume Frames is a place for hanging out, having drinks... as the drinks menu was rather extensive. The food menu was lesser in variation though..

So I had a Pesca Soda (RM7.90)..
A sort of peach flavoured soda. Too fizzy for my liking and well, the peach flavour was from the pasty peach jam look-a-like. It's an ok drink.

SL decided to have the Lava Iced Chocolate (RM7.90)
Looks sinful but think that's how iced chocolate should be :p. Chocolate sauce at the bottom, milk and topped with chocolate ice cream. SL said it was nice.

Started with Waldorf Salad (RM12.90)
Basically an apple salad, Frames serving was definitely generous as we got a rather large plate of salad. Greens at the bottom, topped with big chunks of apples, slices of celery and chopped walnuts. Sadly, I didn't enjoy this salad as I find the mayo too much and way too thick, the walnuts were not fresh (had those stale oil taste) and the apples had been soaked in salt water for way too long as it was salty apples.
We had Pasta Diablo (RM18.90)
The portion, again, was quite generous as it was filled with loads of seafood. The pasta was cooked al-dente and still had a lovely spring to it. This was a rather dry pasta, reminds me of a cross between aglio olio and marinara. More on the spicy side, but still quite tasty nonetheless.
The Rack of Lamb (RM33.90) was served last..I love the colours of this dish, looks very appealing. I quickly attacked a portion of the lamb...and most unfortunately, the piece that I took was overcooked and rather burnt. Obviously it was chewy and some parts were even rubbery. Mopping it up with the herby mint sauce didnt help much either. The second piece fared much better, though it was still not tender. Rather than the conventional mash, Frames served the lamb with potato gratin. I find it delicious as it was cheesy, very fragrant and still very warm.
Would I return? I think so, as I spotted next table having yummy looking burgers and fried calamaris. Wanna try that before I have my final verdict. :p

Frames is located at B-1-3 TTDI Plaza, Jalan Wan Kadir 3, 60000, KL.
